Add your accounts to Mail
Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Outlook, work, your own domain. If Apple's Mail app shows it, MailBridge can read it, using the sign-in Mail already has.
Open MailBridge
Drag it to Applications and allow the two permissions your Mac asks for. One click connects Claude Desktop or Codex, signed in with the account you already have. There is no API key field anywhere in MailBridge.
Ask about all of them
Open Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or the built-in local AI, and ask "What needs a reply today?" It answers from every inbox at once.

No passwords, ever
MailBridge never asks for an email password. It reads the files Apple's Mail app already keeps on your Mac, using the sign-ins Mail already has.

We collect nothing from the app

No reply is sent without your click
Every reply opens a dialog showing the exact recipient, subject and message. Only your click sends it. There is no setting that skips this.
You choose where your mail goes
With the built-in local AI (Ollama), your email stays on your Mac. Connected assistants receive the messages you ask them to read. Optional Jev Triage sends a sender, subject and short redacted snippet to TypeSafe for selected accounts, including recent inbox mail if you open Triage Inbox.
Full Disk Access, only for the app that reads your mail
The built-in Ask window needs Full Disk Access for MailBridge, an app signed and checked by Apple. If you connect an assistant instead (Claude Desktop, Cursor, or a terminal running Claude Code, Codex or Gemini), macOS may also ask to allow that assistant, because it is the one starting MailBridge's helper. Allow the assistant the same way: System Settings, Privacy & Security, Full Disk Access, switch it on.

Questions
Which accounts work?
Any account Mail.app is signed in to: Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, and work IMAP or Exchange accounts. They all work the same way, because MailBridge reads Mail.app rather than the mail service.
Is MailBridge an MCP server for Apple Mail?
Yes. Inside the app is a signed MCP server that Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor launch like any other local tool. It reads Mail.app's local store and asks Mail.app to draft, file and send.
Which assistants can connect?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. ChatGPT cannot connect to local software like MailBridge today.
Do I need an AI subscription?
No. MailBridge has a built-in assistant that runs a model on your Mac through Ollama, which is free. It only talks to Ollama on your own Mac, and it never lists cloud models, so your mail stays on the machine.
Do I need an API key or to buy tokens?
No. Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Codex sign in with the Claude or ChatGPT account you already have, and Claude Code and Codex CLI are included in their paid plans. There is no API key field anywhere in MailBridge, except the optional TypeSafe key for Jev Triage, which is off by default.
What is Jev, and what does it see?
Jev is TypeSafe's decision model. It answers four typed questions per message (kind, whether it needs a reply, whether it needs an action, and how urgent it is) from the sender, the subject and up to 300 redacted characters, never a body, a recipient or an attachment. Triage is off by default, per account, and switching it off runs the same sorting on your Mac with the on-device model.

What happens after the 7-day trial?
MailBridge asks for a license. If you are not ready, you can take 24 more hours, once. After that it stops reading and sending mail for your assistant until you enter a key. One purchase covers 3 Macs.
Are updates included?
Yes. Signed app updates are included with your license. The app checks automatically, and you can check manually from the menu bar.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple silicon (M1 and newer) or an Intel chip. One download works on both. The built-in local assistant picks a model that fits your Mac's chip and memory, and runs fastest on Apple silicon.
Does it work on Windows?
Not yet. MailBridge reads Mail.app's local store, which only exists on macOS.
